Project Background
Rights of Adolescents in the RMG Ecosystem of Bangladesh (BGD Supply Chain) is a 24-month project. The project aims to sensitize and support RMG factories to create decent job opportunities for adolescent (14-17 years) who are engaged or at risk of hazardous work. Project will identify targeted children from community level and develop their soft skills. Project will mobilize families and communities for their support. Project will conduct advocacy with policy makers, textile export association and media for supportive role in terms of policy, standards and technical support.
The Opportunity
The Technical Specialist will provide technical leadership and field-level support for implementing project activities aimed at promoting safe and decent work opportunities for adolescents aged 14–17 in the RMG supply chain of Bangladesh. The position will lead community mobilization, capacity building, and stakeholder engagement initiatives to ensure adolescents are protected from hazardous work while accessing appropriate employment pathways.
The role will also support case management for adolescents exposed to or at risk of hazardous work, strengthen coordination with industry and child rights stakeholders, and contribute to advocacy, knowledge generation, and reporting at local and national levels. This position will directly supervise 2 community mobilizers.
Qualifications and experience
• Minimum 4 years of experience in labour rights especially child/adolescent rights in the Supply Chain.
• Knowledge on child labour laws, child protection frameworks, descent work standards, supply chain due diligence.
• Female candidates having experience working on labour rights particularly child/adolescent rights in RMG supply chain will get preference.
• Certificate course in Digital Marketing & E-commerce will get preference
• Clear knowledge on RMG Ecosystem and strong connection with relevant actors like BGMEA, BKMEA, Labour Rights organization, MoLE, DIFE etc. is desired.
• Demonstrated understanding and competency in project implementation, management, and monitoring.
• The position requires sound knowledge of relevant Government of Bangladesh policies related to Child Rights, Child Protection, Child Labour, and GESI.
• Proven experience in community mobilization, soft skills training, stakeholder engagement, collaboration with RMG actors as well as internal and external communication.
• Report writing both Bangla in English, analyse data for decision making and participation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic digital tools of Artificial Intelligence and soft skills expertise
• Master’s degree, preferably in Social Science/Business Management/Development Studies or Relevant field.
