Organizational Setting
The objective of the Department of Nuclear Energy is to foster the efficient and safe use of nuclear power by supporting interested Member States in improving the performance of nuclear power plants, the nuclear fuel cycle, and the management of nuclear wastes; in catalysing innovation in nuclear power and fuel cycle technologies; in developing indigenous capabilities for national energy planning; in deploying new nuclear power plants; in preserving and disseminating nuclear information and knowledge; and in advancing science and industry through improved operation of research reactors.
Main Purpose
Reporting to the Programme Coordinator (NE), the Technical Lead (Stakeholder Engagement) (NE) ensures a results-oriented programmatic response to Member States' priorities in the field of stakeholder engagement for nuclear power programmes, including the design and implementation of the related communication strategies and action plans.
Role
The Technical Lead (Stakeholder Engagement) (NE) is: (1) a specialist in all aspects of stakeholder engagement, nuclear communication and outreach activities; (2) a technical officer, planning, coordinating and implementing activities required for the successful and timely execution of tasks in the field of stakeholder engagement under his/her responsibility and as defined in the IAEA programme; (3) a scientific secretary, planning and leading capacity building events, including technical meetings, workshops and other knowledge-sharing events; (4) a partnership builder, establishing, developing and maintaining an internal as well as an international network of stakeholders, including nuclear industry , governmental authorities, research organizations, communication and outreach specialists to share and discuss issues related to stakeholder engagement in the nuclear industry; and (5) a secretary of the Nuclear Energy Stakeholder Engagement Coordination Committee (NESECC).
Functions / Key Results Expected
Serve as a Scientific Secretary responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating workshops, training courses and other capacity building events to address the needs of the IAEA Member States in the field of stakeholder engagement for nuclear power programmes, including related communication and outreach.
Serve as a Technical Officer for Technical Cooperation Projects on stakeholder engagement for nuclear power programmes and related communication and outreach plans, for national, regional and interregional projects.
Prepare state-of-the-art reports on stakeholder engagement across the nuclear sector, including related communication elements as well as education and community outreach.
Identify emerging needs, priorities, and publication prospects for guidance and reports aimed at strengthening understanding of the benefits and challenges of nuclear power through improvement in the effectiveness of stakeholder engagement strategies, including increased cooperation with the education sector and other key stakeholders, including using specialist tools and techniques.
Monitor the needs, implementation, operating experience and current practices in stakeholder engagement in Member States, collecting and evaluating relevant data.
Liaise and interact with other international experts, both internal and external; operate and maintain a network of experts on stakeholder engagement, related communication and outreach for nuclear power programmes.
Coordinate efforts within the NE Department and across the Agency in the area of stakeholder engagement.

Remuneration
The IAEA offers an attractive remuneration package including a tax-free annual net base salary starting at US $86027 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance), a variable post adjustment which currently amounts to US $ 46627*, dependency benefits, rental subsidy, education grant, relocation and repatriation expenses; Other benefits include 6 weeks' annual leave, home leave travel, pension plan and health insurance.
