ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT:
In 2018, WFP re-established its presence in the Caribbean with an office in Barbados. The WFP Caribbean Multi-Country Office (MCO) supports 22 countries and territories across the English- and Dutch-speaking Caribbean. WFP Caribbean’s capacity strengthening programme focuses on vulnerability analysis and mapping; end-to-end supply chain management; shock-responsive social protection; food systems strengthening; and climate risk financing. In times of crisis, WFP works with partners to provide direct assistance when events surpass national and regional capacities by delivering food, cash or voucher assistance, or through emergency logistics or emergency telecommunications service provision.
At this level, job holders demonstrate responsibility and initiative to respond independently to queries with only general guidance for WFP supply chain operational activities. There is a requirement to use judgment in dealing with unforeseen problems on a daily basis. Job holders typically manage a small team, supervising and coaching staff.
JOB PURPOSE:
To coordinate and support the implementation of regional supply chain projects and activities to enable the effective and timely delivery of project outcomes and operational objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (not all-inclusive, nor exhaustive):
1. Support the planning, implementation, and monitoring of supply chain capacity strengthening activities in collaboration with CDEMA, national authorities, and other partners, ensuring alignment with agreed objectives and workplans.
2. Support analysis of country and regional supply chain contexts, identify operational challenges, and contribute to the development of practical solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
3. Assist in the implementation of new supply chain initiatives, tools, and approaches, ensuring coordination with core activities and close collaboration with supply chain stakeholders.
4. Contribute to the identification of best practices and lessons learned from humanitarian, development, academic, and private sector sources, and support knowledge-sharing activities.
5. Support the monitoring of activities, budgets, and resources to ensure effective use of available inputs and timely delivery of outputs.
6. Support collaboration with internal supply chain functions and external counterparts, including government entities, UN agencies, NGOs, and private sector partners, to ensure coordinated supply chain operations.
7. Support adherence to supply chain policies, procedures, and controls, with attention to quality, risk mitigation, loss prevention, and cost efficiency.
8. Support accurate and timely reporting on supply chain activities, including data consolidation, analysis, and preparation of reports and dashboards for internal and external stakeholders.
9. Contribute to preparedness actions by supporting risk analysis, contingency planning, and monitoring of supply chain readiness at national and regional levels.
10. Other duties as required.

STANDARD MINIMUM ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: Minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience in supply chain, logistics, capacity strengthening, project coordination, or related fields.
Education:Post secondary certificate in Supply Chain Management or related function area. A post secondary certificate in Project Management or Training and Development would be an asset.
Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English.

Type of position: Short-Term, Full-Time
Type of Contact: Service Contract Level 6 (SC 6)
Duration on Contract: 12 months. This contract is eligible for extension. Extension of contracts will be based on satisfactory performance and operational requirements. There will be a 12-month probationary period upon appointment to the role.
Duty Station: Bridgetown, Barbados
Travel Requirements: The WFP Caribbean Office cover the 22 English and Dutch speaking Caribbean countries. The selected candidate may be required to travel from time to time, both regionally and internationally, to support missions, emergency responses, training etc. As such full medical clearance will be required.
