Position Objective
The Stakeholder Communications Specialist will be responsible for developing and producing GCF’s key messages and communication products, and to help shape and leverage GCF’s relationship with key stakeholders in support of its communications strategy.

The Stakeholder Communications Specialist will work with GCF’s stakeholders, particularly Accredited Entities, National Designated Authorities and members of the Private and Public Sector ecosystems, to ensure that GCF’s key messages and communications products are effectively conveyed to its audiences in consistent, creative, targeted and timely ways.

The Stakeholder Communications Specialist will contribute to developing communication plans that foster engagement of external stakeholders, including National Designated Authorities, Accredited Entities, Public and Private Partners, and Civil Society Organizations. The Specialist will play an active role in key on-ground events e.g. UNFCCC COP.

• Develop and produce content for communication products to raise GCF’s profile, enhance its brand and inform of its results and achievements, including collecting multimedia and project stories from the field, including from its Accredited Entity partners.
• Support and help coordinate communications plans for key on-ground events like COP, GPIC, Regional Dialogues and similar fora.
• Contribute to communication plans that foster engagement of external stakeholders, including National Designated Authorities, Accredited Entities, Public and Private Partners, and Civil Society Organizations.
• Manage relationships with key communications partners, particularly Accredited Entities, to develop communications materials related to GCF Funded Activities.
• Write, review and edit copy for various audiences (external, internal) and communications channels, including digital, social, and traditional media outlets.
• Draft, edit and review speeches and other presentation materials at the executive level for external engagements.
• Support the development of topline corporate messaging for outreach and engagements.
• Work across the Digital & Brand team to optimize material production for outreach.
• Coordinate the production process for publications that include communication products and outreach materials to ensure quality, relevance, and timeliness.
• Manage and track existing publications to ensure they are regularly updated, and the content is relevant, accurate, and correct.
• Help develop and implement publication procedures and editorial standards and ensure quality control of communications.

Requirements (Education, experience, technical competencies required of the job)

• Advanced university degree in international relations, economics, journalism, communications, etc.
• At least 5 years of relevant international experience and a proven track record of good political judgement and strong understanding of multi-lateral processes and climate finance.
• Demonstrated capacity to establish and maintain relationships with key partners.
• Experience in working with colleagues from different functions and cultures and solid interpersonal skills.
• Excellent writing and editing skills in English (Native level), as well as oral communication skills in English; knowledge of other languages a plus.
• Experience in editorial and managing publications preferred.
