STRengthening Infectious disease DEtection Systems (STRIDES) is the United States Government’s flagship project for global health security. It aims to strengthen countries’ capacity across laboratory and surveillance systems to prevent, detect, and rapidly and effectively respond to emerging infectious diseases and other public health threats. STRIDES is a global mechanism, a contract with a five-year (2024–2029) period of performance, led by FHI 360 as the prime, with core partners such as Black & Veatch focusing on biosecurity and biosafety and PATH on surveillance activities.
Job Summary:
FHI 360 is recruiting an Accountant located in Bogotá, Colombia, to support the STRIDES project.
An Accountant supporting the STRIDES program is responsible for ensuring that all accounting transactions, financial records, and reporting activities are accurate, complete, and compliant with Colombian accounting regulations, tax requirements, and applicable financial reporting standards. This role oversees the monthly and year-end closing processes, account reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, financial analysis, and the preparation of statutory and management reports. The Senior Accountant also ensures proper documentation, internal controls, and audit readiness while supporting compliance with local regulatory obligations and organizational policies.
In addition, S/he serves as a key liaison between the local finance team and the corporate headquarters, ensuring that financial information is reported in accordance with both Colombian accounting standards and the accounting policies, procedures, and reporting requirements established by HQ. The position supports budgeting, forecasting, grant and program expenditure monitoring, identification of accounting risks, and continuous process improvements to strengthen financial integrity, transparency, and operational efficiency within the STRIDES program.
The expected hiring salary range for this role is COP 93,000,000 - 110,000,000 for annual basic salary for national local hire. When determining an offer amount, FHI 360 factors in multiple considerations, including but not limited to: relevant years of experience and education possessed by the applicant, internal equity, market pay, and budget. For internal candidates, salary placement will also follow FHI 360’s current promotional increase guidelines.
