Please be aware that your home Administration/Agency/Service/Government will be responsible for all of your salary/remuneration, social insurance, pension contributions, welfare benefits, family allowances, benefits during your assignment at INTERPOL as well as travel, removal expenses related to your arrival at and departure from INTERPOL, and any other related costs depending on your circumstances. SUMMARY OF THE ASSIGNED DUTIES,
INCLUDING GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE POST
The Executive Directorate for Capacity Building and Innovation (EDCI) provides strategic direction on the identification and adoption of transformative technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), guiding INTERPOL’s innovation agenda and fostering strong partnerships, particularly through the INTERPOL Global Complex for Innovation (IGCI) in Singapore. The EDCI leads awareness campaigns, oversees pilot projects, and develops frameworks to support ethical and effective tech integration across member countries to address emerging law enforcement challenges. In parallel, the EDCI oversees the global capacity building and police training strategy, including the development of best practices, standardized curricula, and remote learning tools; and directs the INTERPOL Global Academy Network.
Under the EDCI, the Innovation Centre serves as a transversal enabler for INTERPOL. Operating entirely from the IGCI in Singapore, it empowers the Organization and its member countries through innovation, partnerships, and forward-looking approaches.
It functions as a strategic nexus between INTERPOL’s operational units and external innovation ecosystems, equipping the Organization to identify, pilot, and scale innovative approaches to address evolving law enforcement challenges and empower global law enforcement, while enabling practical and realistic innovations within the General Secretariat.
As its core mandate and purpose, the Directorate provides a platform for member countries and relevant stakeholders to share innovations for law enforcement, identify key problems, and facilitate the creation of solutions to address them.
The Director of the Innovation Centre will be the principal driver of the Organization’s platform for member countries and relevant stakeholders to share innovations, including AI-enabled solutions, for law enforcement, identify key problems, and facilitate the creation of solutions to address them.

QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS
As part of our commitment to transparency throughout our recruitment process, INTERPOL's Staff Manual Regulation 11.4: Age-limit, which states that:
'Officials of the Organization shall not normally be retained in service beyond the age of 65 years. The Secretary General may, in exceptional cases and in the interests of the Organization, extend this age limit, in which case he shall inform the official concerned sufficiently in advance.'
Given this Regulation and in case candidates reach the age of 65 during the potential duration of the appointment, should they be selected for the position and the process proceed to appointment, the employment period may be affected by this regulatory limit and may therefore not extend for the full standard contract duration as published in the vacancy notice.
