Purpose of the Role

Lead protection monitoring and rapid assessments in Ayod to identify protection risks, service gaps, and changes in the protection environment. Provide reliable analysis to inform response, advocacy, referrals, and community engagement.p

Key Responsibilities

• Develop monitoring plans and conduct regular field monitoring, rapid assessments, interviews, focus group discussions, and observations.
• Ensure safe, inclusive, and confidential data collection, including informed consent and appropriate handling of sensitive information.
• Review, clean, analyse, and triangulate data to identify protection risks, trends, vulnerabilities, and service gaps.
• Prepare concise monitoring reports, updates, and alerts with clear findings, limitations, and practical recommendations.
• Ensure safe and confidential referrals for individuals requiring support, with consent.
• Use approved data-collection and information-management systems and ensure responsible handling of protection information.
• Support field teams through coaching and coordinate with Protection, Programme, and MEAL colleagues.

Experience and Technical Competencies

• Degree in Social Sciences, Social Work, Development Studies, Statistics, or a related field; relevant diploma with substantial experience may be considered.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant humanitarian protection experience, including monitoring, rapid assessments, or protection analysis.
• Experience conducting KIIs, FGDs, observations, and handling sensitive information safely.
• Strong qualitative and quantitative data analysis, reporting, and communication skills.
• Experience with Excel and digital data-collection tools such as KoboToolbox.
• Knowledge of protection information management principles is an advantage.
• Willingness and ability to travel to remote locations under approved security arrangements.
