Job Description:
- Project management and Implementation (45%)
- Based on the assessment phase, develop the WEE strategy and associated work plan, including mainstreamed/targeted activities and an approach to ‘do no harm’.
- Serve as a focal point for WEE strategy implementation for Juba and Tonj North
- Actively engage in planning and implementing assessment (including market assessment) and develop specific recommendations for the GREAW project to promote MSD
- Be aware of all aspects of WEE implementation, including approaches, challenges, risks, and opportunities within the project's scope.
- Work with the project team to support in resolving problems and advice as issues arise to ensure adaptive management;
- Collect data, analyse it and report the WEE outcomes of the GREAW project.
- Manage and support key partnerships linked to the WEE strategy and implementation activities, including the private sector, government, women-led organisations, etc.
- Draft quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reports to submit to the project manager
- Document relevant data evidence (qualitative and quantitative) for dissemination to a broader audience
- Advocacy and interaction with local leaders on resource allocation, collaboration during project execution, and policy formulation on women's economic empowerment.
- Organize ideas on sectors and integrate the knowledge on life & protective skills, child rights and protection, and education to support the quality implementation
- Project Monitoring and Evaluations (10%)
- Work with the project team to ensure the appropriate monitoring of activities, identifying ideas of concern based on gender-disaggregated data and ensuring appropriate programming responses;
- Advise the monitoring team in the organisation and collect data, analyse it, and report the WEE outcomes of the GREAW project.
- Develop and implement a monitoring plan that is reviewed on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Provided recommendations to the project team for effective implementation of the WEE initiatives in the GREAW project and about necessary changes.
- Partnership Management (10%)
- Support the best relationship with all local government bodies/personnel, e.g., County line ministries/rural municipalities.
- Support those regular and timely meetings with local government bodies
- Support to provide concrete WEE input to the government, market actors, and private sector during their planning process.
- Support to build up strong coordination with schools, CVA group
- Coordination and support to field staff for implementing activities.
- Capacity Building (10%)
- Assess staff capacity and training needs of the project team and work with the WVSS to provide training for the project team on WEE to promote skills development (assessment, approaches, private sector engagement and more) and the successful implementation of key strategies and activities to result in WEE outcomes
- Provide technical assistance and support to project team regarding WEE-related issues.
- Facilitate or assist the team in conducting responsive fact-finding through focus group discussions and other tools to better understand the challenges and opportunities that arise.
- Provide training and capacity building for field staff to ensure they have the necessary competencies to deliver all project components effectively, enabling the achievement of project targets.
- Networking and Advocacy (10%)
- Support to develop a project brief and disseminate to relevant stakeholders.
- Support to develop strategic relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders at the district Level.
- Establish adequate referral linkage of project target groups with the appropriate service providers, policy makers, and other stakeholders.
- Financial Management/ Policy adherence (5%)
- Support the settlement of monthly expenses by ensuring project compliance, coordinating with the project manager and the finance team.
- Support in reviewing the financial report of field staff as required.
- Documentation and Reporting (10%)
- Monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, annual, and other program and financial reports prepared and in place and documented in time, aligning with project design and donor requirements.
- Review and ensure that the monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reports capture WEE and protection results.
- Support to maintain beneficiary records
- Prepare or present progress and completion reports.
- Maintain project database management as per the requirements and ensure qualitative reporting and implementation models are used.
- Dissemination of lessons learned and best practices from major program interventions.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: The successful candidate must:
- Demonstrate strong technical skills in achieving WEE outcomes in VCD/MSD/financial inclusion and gender-transformative programming.
- Have a minimum of three years of work experience in implementing or advising on WEE initiatives in VCD/ MSD and gender-transformative programming.
- Exhibit excellent team building, training, and advisory skills;
- Exhibit strong skills in stakeholder engagement, including with the private sector.
- Exhibit good skills in gender-transformative/social behavior change (SBC) programs that seek to transform gender relations and social norms; and
- Have completed an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline (international development, business administration, social sciences, women's studies, or another similar discipline).
PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE: In addition, it would be advantageous for the candidate to also have:
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (economics, business administration, social sciences, women's studies, or another similar discipline);
- Experience in the South Sudan or region;
- Experience working on grant projects funded by institutional donors; and
- Knowledge of working in Non-government Organizations (NGOs) like World Vision
