The Oppotunity

The Global SRHR Alliance New pilot programme is being implemented across eight countries in three regions: East Africa (Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda), West Africa (Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger), MENA (Jordan, Lebanon).

The SRH Alliance Project Coordinator provides overall regional/zonal and woreda level coordination for the planning, implementation and monitoring of SRH Alliance program led by PIE and implemented by Alliance members including PIE, Amref Ethiopia and local implementing partners, ensuring the achievement of agreed objectives, results, and quality standards. The Alliance Program is integrated in to PIE’s SRH Programme Framework and contributes to the SRHR Alliance New initiative funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), running from June 2026 to December 2028.

The role coordinates the delivery of a multi-actor SRH alliance program that addresses gaps in sexual and reproductive health service utilization, harmful social norms, and health system constraints, with a strong focus on conflict-affected and hard-to-reach areas. The SRH Alliance Project Coordinator ensures the effective implementation of high-impact SRH in the implementation areas that improve the availability, accessibility, acceptability, and quality (3AQ) of services, expand access to comprehensive SRH information and education, and strengthen social norm change and enabling environments through community engagement, regional SRH related research and policy advocacy.

The SRH Alliance Project Coordinator is responsible for effective alliance coordination and partnership management, providing operational support to SRH Alliance Platform members, implementing partners, and project teams. This includes regional/sub-national joint planning processes, ensuring timely and high-quality implementation, overseeing financial planning and budget management, coordinating partnerships, and ensuring accurate reporting in line with grant agreements, donor compliance, and Plan International policies and procedures. In addition, the role facilitates strong collaboration with local regional-,zonal-woreda level institutions and other SRH stakeholders for effective implementation of the project, while leading efforts in engaging young people , grassroot community structures, youth-led and women-led networks, CSO capacity strengthening, monitoring, evaluation, documentation, and learning. The role will contribute to promoting gender equality, disability inclusion, and climate-sensitive approaches in regional implementation, and will support the delivery of survivor-centered interventions, community engagement, peer education, facilitate trainings and other project strategies. Through effective coordination, partner support, and field-level problem solving, the SRH Project Coordinator will play a key role in ensuring quality implementation and contributing to inclusive and sustainable project outcomes at regional level.

Key Responsibilities Include: The Individual

Safeguarding Children and Program Participants (Safeguarding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI)

• Understands and puts into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), ensuring that concerns are reported and managed per the appropriate procedures.
• Ensures that all staff in the unit/function/department are properly inducted on and understand their role in upholding Plan International’s safeguarding and GEI policies;
• Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in day-to-day work.
• Ensures that Plan Ethiopia contributes to Plan International’s global efforts to ensure safeguarding and GEI, including making sure that relevant reporting and data are submitted.
