Duties and Responsibilities
Enhancing the capacity of governments in the Asia-Pacific region is key to the effective production and use of relevant and disaggregated statistics for policymaking, monitoring, and evaluation. In partnership with the Republic of Korea, ESCAP supports countries through its innovative tools and solutions that enable them to establish a dialogue between national policy sectors, statistical offices, and SDG implementation bodies to review existing policies, identify priority issues and population groups of focus, and develop comprehensive monitoring frameworks to enable evidence-based decision making (through implementation of Every Policy is Connected "EPiC" tool). In this context, the individual contractor will support the implementation of the project on “Enhanced capacity for monitoring of integrated and inclusive policies for sustainable development in Asia and the Pacific” under the Korea-ESCAP Cooperation Fund (KECF). Under the guidance of the head of the Statistical Data Management Unit (SDMU), Statistics Division, the consultant will be responsible for:
Qualifications/special skills
Bachelor’s degree in statistics, economics or related field. At least 5 years of national and/or international experience working in information management, project management, data analysis, econometrics, or statistics research. Previous professional experience in project management is required. Previous professional experience with the United Nations is desirable.
Languages
Fluency in English is required.
