Under the overall supervision of the Head of Climate Action Technical Cooperation, Sub-division of Maritime Development and direct supervision of the GreenVoyage2050 Programme Manager, the incumbent will support the implementation of the GreenVoyage2050 Programme through project coordination, stakeholder engagement, monitoring and evaluation, reporting and administrative support.
1. Project implementation and coordination
• Coordinate assigned project activities and support the implementation of programme work-plans in accordance with agreed objectives and timelines.
• Contribute to the planning and delivery of meetings, workshops, missions and other programme activities with partner countries, consultants and stakeholders.
• Prepare project documents, reports, presentations, briefing materials and other outputs to support programme implementation and decision-making.
2. Stakeholder engagement and capacity building
• Facilitate engagement with partner countries, National Focal Points and other stakeholders to support programme implementation and knowledge exchange.
• Coordinate and contribute to the delivery of workshops, training activities, seminars and stakeholder consultations, including the preparation of technical and substantive inputs.
• Maintain effective communication with partner countries, implementing partners and other stakeholders to facilitate the timely delivery of project activities and outputs.
3. Monitoring, Evaluation and Knowledge Management
• Monitor progress of assigned activities and contribute to reporting against programme objectives, indicators and work-plans.
• Draft progress reports, lessons learned, case studies and other knowledge products to support programme learning, knowledge sharing and donor reporting.
• Maintain and update project records, databases and information systems to support effective monitoring, reporting and information management.
• Contribute to communication, outreach and awareness-raising activities, including the preparation of communication materials and dissemination of project results.
4. Financial management, procurement and contract management
• Monitor expenditures, contribute to budget management and support the preparation of financial and programme reports in accordance with established procedures.
• Prepare terms of reference, procurement documentation and other materials required for the engagement of consultants, service providers and implementing partners.
• Monitor consultant and implementing partner deliverables, maintain contractual records and contribute to the review of outputs, progress reports and financial information against agreed requirements.
5. Administrative support
• Support the coordination of programme activities with relevant internal and external stakeholders to facilitate effective implementation and delivery.
• Maintain project documentation, correspondence and records in accordance with programme and organizational requirements.
• Contribute to the effective administration of programme activities and provide support on operational, procurement and reporting matters as required.
6. Project-specific duties
• Contribute to the development and implementation of National Action Plans (NAPs) and other policy initiatives related to maritime decarbonization.
• Support the development and implementation of maritime decarbonization pilot projects and other initiatives related to low- and zero-emission shipping, port decarbonization and clean energy infrastructure.
• Contribute to the development and dissemination of technical resources, guidance materials, publications and awareness-raising products related to maritime decarbonization.
• Support the integration of cross-cutting considerations, including capacity building, gender equality and knowledge sharing, across programme activities.
Minimum two years of relevant experience in project implementation, programme support or technical cooperation activities is essential.
Experience in budget preparation and monitoring, financial analysis and administration experience is essential.
Experience supporting maritime decarbonization, climate change or related environmental programmes is an asset.
University degree in Environmental Science, Marine or Maritime Studies, Maritime Law, Marine Transportation, Environmental Policy, Public Policy, Climate Change, International Relations or related field.
Proficiency in English. Working knowledge of another UN language desirable.
MS Office proficiency. ERP/financial systems desirable. Strong reporting, coordination and stakeholder engagement skills.
Fixed-term for two years (first year is probationary) with the possibility of further extension subject to satisfactory performance and availability of project funds.
US$ 55,163 net per annum, plus post adjustment (currently US$ 41,758). Salary is free of income tax in the United Kingdom.
