WFP has been assisting Sahrawi Refugees in Algeria since the mid-1980s. Currently, WFP provides in-kind assistance to the refuges as its biggest activity, as well as school meal, nutrition management and prevention and livelihood and livelihood projects. These activities are thoroughly monitored by the Research, Assessment and Monitoring (RAM) unit who plays a critical role in generating timely, reliable, and actionable evidence to inform programme design, targeting, implementation, monitoring, and reporting across all WFP interventions.

The Programme Associate (VAM Associate) will be embedded within the RAM unit and will provide specialized technical and analytical support to ensure data‑driven decision‑making, accountability, and performance monitoring in line with WFP corporate standards.
The position reports to the Head of RAM and operates with a high degree of autonomy, judgement, and responsibility.

Education: Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in economics, agriculture, social sciences, development studies, data science or related field is desirable

Languages: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Arabic. The French language is a plus.
