WHY JOIN WFP?
The main purpose of this assignment is to provide specialized technical and coordination support to the provincial government in strengthening disaster preparedness and anticipatory action systems, particularly through pilot implementation of impact-based forecasting (IBF), integration of anticipatory action into local disaster risk reduction initiatives, support to provincial coordination mechanisms and workplan development, contingency planning in priority locations, and capacity building for El Niño preparedness in drought-prone districts.
Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of the Head of Kupang Field Office, with functional guidance from the Head of EPR and Supply Chain of WFP Indonesia, the incumbent will be responsible for the following:
Deliverables:
Technical support provided for the pilot implementation of impact-based forecasting (IBF) within the anticipatory action framework in NTT Province.
Anticipatory action elements integrated into relevant DESTANA-related processes or guidance. Technical inputs provided to the Provincial AA/AMPD Working Group (Pokja), including support to the development of the workplan.
Technical support provided to contingency planning processes in Lembata, building on previous efforts to strengthen local ownership. BPBD Provincial supported in the preparation and/or facilitation of capacity building (bimtek) on El Niño preparedness across six priority districts.
Progress, lessons learned, and recommendations documented to support evidence-based policy and programming on anticipatory action and preparedness.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Education:
University degree in International & Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Risk Management, or related field, or completion of secondary education with additional years of relevant work experience and/or training.
