BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:
The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is the 2020 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate. To reach a world with zero hunger, WFP is investing in and growing private sector fundraising and partnerships. Serving as a broker between WFP and the private sector, WFP’s Private Partnerships and Fundraising Division (PSP) strives to mobilize funding, technical assistance, innovative solutions and visibility and awareness to help WFP fulfil its mission, while offering companies and the wider public the opportunity to contribute to a world with zero hunger.
ShareTheMeal is WFP’s fundraising and awareness-raising app. Free to download, the award- winning app is a pioneering way for people to join our efforts in creating a world with zero hunger. ShareTheMeal was launched in 2015 as the first pilot of WFP’s Innovation Accelerator, which among other things supports start-ups and innovators in developing their ideas for zero hunger.
ShareTheMeal currently has more than 1.9 million users worldwide, who have shared more than 290 million meals (US$ 200 million). WFP is pursuing an ambitious growth strategy for individual giving, and ShareTheMeal is a key driver for this strategy going forward. The team, located in Berlin and remotely, is focused on increasing the funds raised to help get to zero hunger by further developing the app to include new and innovative features, increasing the engagement of existing users and growing the user base through marketing and communication initiatives.
ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Consultant, reporting to the Head of Product for the ShareTheMeal initiative, is expected to:
1.
Develop and manage a product roadmap and strategy for ShareTheMeal, together with ShareTheMeal’ s Head of Product
a.
Carry out discussions with relevant external counterparts and WFP staff to derive options on the product strategy.
b.
Prepare discussion documents for the product strategy and architecture including standards.
c.
Work with external partners to align ShareTheMeal product features with related services and products (such as payment, platform, and hosting providers)
2.
Lead on and perform both quantitative and qualitative user research and data analysis to guide product decisions and A/B tests, manage follow-up UI/UX iterations and improvements.
3.
Implement new features to improve and iterate on existing functionalities, together with ShareTheMeal’ s development team.
4.
Lead on and align feature scopes across platforms (e.g. Web, native iOS, native Android)
a.
Research and define functional requirements and prepare clear specifications,with the support of UI/UX design and our development team.
b.
Ensure alignment on timelines and technical dependencies and help set priorities.
c.
Work collaboratively with the Development team, UI/UX design, QA, content,localization and BI team and other stakeholders to ensure features areimplemented and rolled out successfully.
5.
Support other activities as required.
DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT:

A product roadmap and strategy are defined, which is in line with KPIs.

QUALIFICATIOS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree
Experience:
At least 5 years of experience in product management of native iOS and Android apps and Web, preferably transaction-focused apps in the e-commerce industry
Knowledge & Skills:

Strong analytical abilities, both quantitative and qualitative; ability toproduce high-quality written materials.

Excellent communication and coordination skills enabling you tointeract effectively with stakeholders, developers, designers, content,QA and BI
