How can you make a difference?

UNICEF’s Global Shared Services Centre in Budapest is recruiting highly dedicated individuals for the process support role, for business process improvement, knowledge sharing, technical and process training, and engagement with key stakeholders. This covers both technical and functional areas for the Recruitment Administration Services (RAS) stream for the efficient implementation of a broad range of Human Resources functions ensuring accurate and timely delivery that is in compliance with UNICEF HR rules and regulations.

Key functions, accountabilities, and related tasks:

Under the supervision of and guidance of the People and Culture Officer, the People and Culture Associate, GS6, will provide technical and process support to ensure the effective and compliant delivery of HR administration services. The position supports business process improvements, systems coordination, knowledge management, quality assurance activities, and technical/process training initiatives, while contributing to operational efficiency and service excellence across HR Administration. The position works closely with multiple stakeholders, including HR teams, business process owners, technical teams, and partner units, to support accurate, timely, and client-focused service delivery.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Education:

• Completion of secondary education (i.e. high school diploma) is a minimum requirement. Professional and/or university courses in human resource management, business management, international relations, psychology or another related field is an asset.

Experience:

• Minimum of six (6) years of relevant work experience in human resources is required. A completed BA degree from an accredited institution qualifies as 3 years’ experience and will be counted towards the minimum work experience requirement. Minimum two (2) years of relevant experience is required for candidates holding bachelor’s degree in relevant fields. Master’s degree will be considered with an additional two years of relevant work experience.

Technical Experience/ Skills Required:

• Advanced knowledge in the Microsoft Suite of Products (including MS Word, MS Excel & MS PowerPoint).

• Skills: Advanced computer literacy and the ability to effectively use standard office software tools (MS Office, Enterprise database) and other office technology to create documentation, exchange and archive e-mail, and maintain electronic filing systems.

• Strong working knowledge of Service Gateway is required.

• Good knowledge of the principles and concepts of human resources management. Ability to identify issues, conduct rigorous research, and make conclusions and recommendations.

Highly Desirables:

• Prior work experience with any international organization and/or large corporation.
• Previous hands-on experience in creating business requirements, user testing, and implementing system enhancements
• Experience in project planning and collaboration with project stakeholders

Asset:

• Strong working knowledge of SAP HR and TMS
• IT certification /Degree and/or Professional Certifications in HRIS or HR Technology Certifications

Language requirements:

Fluency in both verbal and written English is required. Knowledge of an additional UN Language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) is considered an asset.

Internal applicants from the GSSC are required to complete the Learning Path corresponding to their current level before applying for another position. Additionally, they must attach a snapshot of the completed path to their applications. Applications that do not meet these two minimum requirements will not be considered.

Applicants must be nationals of Hungary or EU/Schengen countries OR in the possession of a valid long-term Hungarian residence and work permits. Temporary and/or sponsored visas are not accepted. UNICEF GSSC does not facilitate MFA accreditation for locally recruited staff, applicants must be holders of acceptable permits already at the time of application. Applicants with non-EU citizenship must attach copies of their valid Hungarian work permits, otherwise their applications will not be considered.
