Duties and Responsibilities
Tasks to be performed under this contract: In coordination with the OHCHR PRO focal point, the National Individual Contractor in Information Management will be responsible for the performance of the tasks and expected outputs: • Inception and work planning (two working days): Participate in briefing with OHCHR PRO; work with human rights officers in OHCHR PRO and SPC HRSD to ensure a smooth transition of information tools and services to elaborate the 2026 Pacific Situational Analysis; review key background documents (draft narrative chapters to be included in the 2026 Pacific Situational Analysis report); submit short inception report with refined workplan and timeline. • Data spreadsheets (five working days): Design, develop and populate content of spreadsheets and other data tools to support the elaboration of the 2026 Pacific Situational Analysis; consolidate operational information to support the incorporation of human rights analysis. • Data Management (three days): participate in the development, implementation and management of new data elements for the elaboration of the 2026 Pacific Situational Analysis; provide advice on assessment design to ensure data quality; design the deliverables by managing platforms and tools that support data collection and analysis such as MS Lists, MS Teams and PowerBI. • Elaboration of visual information products to be incorporated in the report (five working days): produce and update information contributions to the report, charts and infographics by turning data into graphical products to convey messages and a storyline; develop map visualizations and snapshots for the 2026 Pacific Situational Analysis report, as well as for other OHCHR PRO’s visual products or reports. • Revision and submission of final contents, products, and deliverables (five working days): revise all content based on OHCHR PRO’s and SPC HRSD’s feedback; submit full content package of info-graphics, spreadsheets, map visualizations, snapshots and other data tools to the OHCHR PRO/SPC HRSD team producing the 2026 Pacific Situational Analysis; ensure appropriate storage, destruction or archiving of data managed in the elaboration of the 2026 Pacific Situational Analysis.
Qualifications/special skills
Education required: • Bachelor’s university degree (or equivalent) in information management, information systems, social science or related field. • A minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in information management, information systems, web management, data management, geographic information systems & mapping, data visualization, or other related area is required. A minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in information management, information systems, web management, data management, geographic information systems & mapping, data visualization, or other related area is required. Experience of working in the Pacific region is required. Experience with GIS tools and services and o365 tools and data systems is desirable. Experience within the United Nations common system or an international organisation is desirable.
Languages
Fluency in English is required. Working knowledge of Fijian or any of the indigenous languages from the Pacific will be an advantage
