TERMS OF REFERENCE
UNICEF is seeking to recruit a national consultant to provide technical support in preventing harmful practices and violence against children. The consultant will support these efforts by strengthening national and community capacity, including assisting the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (MoWECP) and the Ministry of Population and Family Development (BKKBN) in improving family-based services and parenting programs that address child marriage, female genital mutilation/cutting (FGM/C), and violence against children, while also engaging children and youth organizations for advocacy. The role will involve mainstreaming violence prevention in education by coordinating with relevant ministries, contributing technical inputs to key documents, and advancing policy discussions. Moreover, the consultant will support efforts to generate demand for child protection services by reducing stigma against women and child survivors of violence through community-based social and behaviour change interventions, strengthening the capacity of service providers to deliver inclusive and sensitive care, and enhancing coordination between community mechanisms and UPTD PPA and other child protection services to improve case management, referral mechanisms and build community trust.
