CHILD SAFEGUARDING:

Level 3: The post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting process staff.

This project aims that children and youth in vulnerable situations have their rights respected and possess sound self-reliance capacities that allow them to improve their life perspectives. It will also target national and community organizations to enable them to provide effective protection and self-reliance services for children and youth.

ROLE PURPOSE:

The MHPSS Facilitator will lead the implementation of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) group activities for refugee and migrant children and youth. The role focuses on strengthening resilience, promoting protection and prevention interventions, and delivering awareness sessions for children and their caregivers. The Facilitator will work directly with vulnerable refugee and migrant populations to enhance life skills, build individual resilience, and improve psychosocial well-being through structured, child-centered support interventions.

SCOPE OF ROLE:

Reports To: MHPSS Officer

Staff Directly Reporting to this Post: None

• Support the identification and outreach of vulnerable children, youth and caregivers in coordination with the Case Management and MHPSS teams

• Facilitate and co-facilitate a rolling program of life skills training programs.

• Build capacity small group of interested children who wish to participate in dialog in local and national policy levels.

• Support children engagement and participation in project activities and consultations.

• Coordinate with case management and livelihood teams as needed.

• Develop monthly reports reflecting the progress in the project implementation, highlight success cases and document challenges encountered during the implementation of activities.

• Participation of the working group in planning and implementing recreational and psychosocial support activities and setting up the monthly plan for children and parents in the community schools and implementing them.

• Ensure that activities are implemented in accordance to the Plan of Action (POA) in timely manner and in line with the project budget;

• Ensure that the activities are implemented in a full respect to the child safeguarding polices of SC.

• Maintain accurate participant records in the database and contribute to data collection and activity monitoring.

• Facilitate, when necessary, orientation sessions, workshops, follow up visits and other activities for the project.

• Cooperate with the team members aiming at the best interest of the child and his/her family;

• Reporting and documentation: Draft concise, useful and analytical reports, reporting to the line manager.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Degree in Social Sciences, humanities, psychology, Or any relevant degree

• Minimum of 1-3 years of successful experience on the field work preferably in raising awareness and positive discipline and strong experience of dealing with children and youth.

• Proven Expertise in designing and facilitating Life skills programs for children between 8 and 18 years old.

• Proven knowledge and skills in activity planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.

• Proven expertise in child protection and Child Resilience

• Evidence of analytical understanding and a commitment to improving child rights

• Good working knowledge of English and Arabic (reading and writing) .

• Good training and facilitation skills

• Familiarity with Refugees’ context is an absolute advantage

• Report writing skills required
