About the role – Kōrero mō te tūranga

The Migration Group provides community refugee settlement support in Aotearoa New Zealand, supporting and empowering new Kiwis as they rebuild their lives here. We support former refugees and vulnerable migrants through programmes which include Pathways to Settlement and Refugee Trauma Recovery, which provides specialist mental health services to former refugees in Wellington. The Migration group also supports other migrants within Aotearoa New Zealand when there is a humanitarian need, including convention refugees

We have an opportunity for an experienced people leader to support and oversee up to 5 settlement locations across the motu.

We are able to consider applicants based in any of the 8 settlement locations – Wellington or close proximity (preferred), Masterton, Palmerston North, Levin, Nelson, Blenheim, Dunedin, Invercargill.

We encourage you to apply for this role if you:

• Have experience working with former refugee communities, or lived experience as a refugee
• Have a social work qualification or another relevant tertiary qualification
• Hold full registration with the Social Worker Registration Board with a current practicing certificate if social work qualified or with a professional registration body related to specific practice.
• Can demonstrate strengths-based practice and cross-cultural understanding
• Experience of leading and managing people from a variety of disciplines
