Key expert 3: Expert on renewable energy

EU funded technical assistance project: Strengthened strategic, institutional, and operational capacity for effective energy policy in response to the climate change, Skopje, North Macedonia

DAI is currently preparing a tender for the project in subject and is recruiting a Key expert 3: Expert on renewable energy with an expected input of minimum 600 working days in Skopje, North Macedonia across 42 months of project implementation, starting indicatively on 1st December 2026.

The overall objective (Impact) to which this action contributes is: to contribute to sustainable economic development of North Macedonia.

The specific objectives (Outcomes) of this contract are as follows: Accelerated climate change-related structural reforms in the energy sector.

The expected outputs of this contract are as follows:

Strengthened strategic, institutional, and operational capacity for effective energy policy in response to the climate change.

• Output 1. Improved national policy and legal framework in the energy sector.
• Output 2. Increased participation of municipalities in the green energy transition.
• Output 3. Improved analysis for green energy transition of the country.

The Key expert 3: Expert on renewable energy candidate should comply with the following qualifications and general and specific professional experience criteria:

Qualifications and skills:

• Minimum Masters in a directly related discipline, or bachelor in the same field plus four years of relevant professional experience. Excellent spoken and written English, corresponding to level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

General professional experience:

• Minimum 8 but preferably 10 years of professional experience in a field related to energy.

Specific professional experience:

• Experience in at least 3 assignments related to, inter alia, renewable energy such as solar energy, wind energy (onshore), hydropower, biomass and biogas, geothermal energy, renewable heating and cooling, biofuels and renewable transport fuels, waste-to-energy, hydrogen, prosumers, energy communities, grid integration of renewables, renewable energy storage, and guarantees of origin and certification schemes.
• Experience on assignments in EU MS bodies or other parties of the Energy Community Treaty, will be considered an advantage.
