• By the end of Month 1: Submit an inception package comprising a detailed workplan, methodology, stakeholder engagement plan, and a prioritized list of research topics for Phase II of the ARRIVES project, validated through consultations with the project team and consortium partners. • By the end of Month 2: Submit the first finalized sector profile, including supporting research and analysis, coordinate and deliver one knowledge-sharing webinar, ensure publication of the profile on the ARRIVES knowledge platform, and provide complete monthly project reporting and updated participant monitoring data. • By the end of Month 3: Submit the second finalized sector profile, complete the monthly project reporting and required quarterly reporting inputs, coordinate participant surveys and Key Informant Interviews (KIIs), analyse preliminary findings, and present an interim progress briefing to the project team. • By the end of Month 4: Submit the third finalized sector profile, complete its associated dissemination webinar and publication, update the participant monitoring framework with consolidated survey findings, and submit the monthly project reporting together with recommendations to inform the design of the project's second phase. • By the end of Month 5: Submit a final consultancy report consolidating all research outputs, sector analyses, participant monitoring results, lessons learned, recommendations for the second phase of ARRIVES, and evidence that all reporting obligations, knowledge products, and dissemination activities have been completed and transferred to the project team.

Duties and Responsibilities
The International Trade Centre (ITC) is the joint agency of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the United Nations (UN). It is the only multilateral agency fully dedicated to supporting the internationalisation of SMEs. Refugees and Trade The Refugee and Trade Team delivers ITC’s trade-related technical assistance in the context of refugees and other people affected by displacement and migration. Refugees and Trade Team is housed in the Women, Youth, and Vulnerable Communities (WYVC) section of the Division of Sustainable and Inclusive Trade (DSIT). Refugees and Trade increases business and employment opportunities, creates better access and connection to markets and improved livelihoods and resilience. These objectives are delivered through five areas of work; (1) provide firm-level support, (2) strengthening the ecosystems for inclusive refugee economic participation, (3) policy advocacy, (4) research and knowledge sharing, and (5) strategic partnerships. The international consultant will support the Assisting the Reintegration of Returnees through Integrated Vocational and Entrepreneurship Support (ARRIVES) project in Nigeria. This project aims to support migrants returning from Germany by offering two approaches to economic reintegration: self-employment or job placement. It covers the entire return process from pre-return coaching in Germany to post-arrival reintegration support. The intervention contributes to improve the knowledge of the needs of returnees and recommendations for economic support activities and will provide structured learnings to project partners and returnees. The project will support the creation of a stronger business ecosystem in Nigeria and enhance the capacity of institutional support for returnee-led MSMEs. DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES The consultant will work under the direct supervision of the Head, Refugees and Trade and in close coordination with the Project Coordinator, ARRIVES. The consultant is expected to perform the following duties: • Identify research topics for the 2nd phase of the project that provides tangible economic opportunities for returnees in Nigeria. • Conceptualise, collect and review data on 3 business sectors in Nigeria (including webinar organization, coordination with communications team, upload on ARRIVES knowledge platform) • Support the monthly and quarterly internal reporting into the project portal • Support the project’s task force and consortium partners with participant monitoring framework including coordination of regular administration of impact surveys and KIIs with participants; • Provide support for any other tasks as required by the project or Refugees & Trade programme team Copyright Clause: The consultant has to ensure to have obtained the necessary permissions with regard to intellectual property rights required to perform their services under this consultancy contract and for the subsequent dissemination by ITC in any form. Documentary proof is to be submitted to ITC. Should any license fee be due for the use of copyrighted materials of third parties, the consultant shall request the prior written permission from ITC. Qualifications/special skills
● Postgraduate degree (MA/MSc/MBA, PHD or other) in International Economics, International Trade, Development Studies, Social Science or any related fields. ● Extensive relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of the university degree. At least 2 years of experience in supporting project management in a displacement or migration context in international organizations Skills Required: ● Knowledge of international trade and economic development initiatives; ● Knowledge of issues relating to migration and displacement; ● Strong analytical skills with critical thinking abilities; ● Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with colleagues in an international office environment; ● Ability to pay attention to detail, even under time pressure; ● Ability to work independently with minimum supervision; ● Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Canva; ● Commitment to the UN goals. Desirable: ● Research experience within a UN context is an asset; ● Communications/editing experience with ITC is an asset.
