Save the Children International has an exciting opportunity for a Intern Data Analyst, Data Insights to join our global team.
Team and Role Purpose
Save the Children is a global organisation with ambitious goals. In a constantly changing environment, it is vital to stay true to its mission, vision and values, whilst being able to withstand external pressures – be those geo-political demands; increasing stakeholder expectations; challenging funding environments; reduced access to funding; or declining trust in large INGOs.
Our focus is on championing the rights and interests of children worldwide, putting the most vulnerable children first. To do this we need to ensure we effectively connect with the children and families we support as well as the communities and partners we work. We need to continuously improve and innovate to achieve our strategic goals and deliver high impact for and with children. This, is driven through our ambitious transformation agenda.
Over the past 10 years, Save the Children has undertaken significant transformation. Change is implemented through a portfolio of projects by the Transformation Delivery & IT Department, through various sub-teams such as Transformation Development, Transformation Deployment, Business Analysis, Portfolio Management Office, AI, Data and Digital, Data Protection and Information Security etc.
Across all sectors, AI, Data and Digital are critical enablers that help organisations deliver better quality work, strengthen decision-making, and drive efficiency. This is even more important in the development sector, where every dollar must contribute directly to improving outcomes for children. Save the Children operates many systems and tools that generate, store and communicate data. Building on this rich data landscape, Digital Programming applies technology for the delivery of programmes for children. Technology may be deployed in the field as part of programme delivery (front office) or form part of the programme development cycle (back office), and may include enabling technologies such as connectivity and infrastructure. The AI, Data and Digital function bring these together to ensure a coherent, joined-up approach that maximises value and strengthens programme and operational delivery.
Within this function, the Data Insights team is a core team responsible for building the tools and frameworks that enable strategic management of results across Save the Children. The team manages the global indicator framework — outcome and output indicators that link programmes to our global goals — and the Indicator Library, our enterprise results-based management tools. These bring together results from 50+ country offices to show progress against strategic priorities and enable country leaders to drive impact for children.
Within the Transformation Portfolio, the AI, Data and Digital team requires intern support to resolve known data issues in PRIME, Save the Children’s project management system. Interns will help drive increased and accurate data entry in project log frames, ensuring that results feed correctly into the strategic dashboards that leaders rely on at every level of the organisation.
Role purpose
The core purpose of this internship is to provide surge support to Country Offices as part of Save the Children’s PRIME data fix initiative. Interns will be assigned to high-volume countries that cannot clear their indicator data issues independently within a reasonable timeframe to support them making indicator corrections on the PRIME system.
This internship offers hands-on experience working within a global development organisation, with direct exposure to results-based management systems, data quality processes, and cross-cultural stakeholder engagement.
