The Secretariat of the WTO is seeking to fill an Implementation Specialist (Communications & Knowledge Management) in the Strategy, Planning and Transformation (SPT) Division.
Presentation of the Division and Section
The WTO Secretariat's SPT Division is responsible for driving implementation of the Secretariat Strategy 2030 and fostering coherence, strategic alignment, and good knowledge management practices across the organization. The SPT Division is helping to develop Secretariat strategic planning and resource allocation capabilities, strengthen horizontal coordination, extend the use of metrics, foster innovation, and enhance knowledge management (KM). The Division works with staff from across the Secretariat, and reports to the Director-General's Office.
The KM section within the SPT Division supports knowledge management across the Secretariat and implementation of the Strategy 2030's Knowledge Hub strategic goal.
This is an opportunity to be a part of a small, dynamic team committed to establishing new functions, breaking down divisional silos, fostering innovation and future-proofing the Secretariat.
A short-term contract will be offered for a period of six months, beginning as soon as possible.
GENERAL FUNCTIONS
In 2025, the WTO's external auditors conducted a performance audit of Secretariat knowledge management and relevant aspects of the Strategy 2030 and made several recommendations for improvement of existing practices and strategy implementation. The SPT Division is seeking an individual to support implementation of these recommendations. The recommendations relate, inter alia, to the elaboration of an implementation roadmap for the Knowledge Hub strategic goal and the development of templates, tools, and systems for stakeholder communications and for monitoring and reporting on the Strategy 2030 and implementation progress.
Reporting to the Director of the SPT Division and the Chief of the KM section, the selected candidate will contribute to supporting implementation of the Secretariat Strategy 2030 and recommendations made in the 2025 performance audit. This individual must be open to and enthusiastic about strategy and innovation. They must possess the energy, adaptability and creativity to drive, and inspire others to embrace, positive change.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
A university degree in communications, public or business administration, international relations, law, economics, or a related discipline is required. Additional degrees or qualifications related to the subject matter of this position would be an asset.
