Program Background

The Economic and Social Infrastructure Program (ESIP) is an Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) program implemented by DT Global.

Under strategic direction from DFAT officials at the Australian High Commission in PNG, ESIP is delivering a range of activities and policy initiatives in the energy and telecommunications sectors. ESIP is also supporting PNG’s state-owned enterprise performance improvement program and delivering social infrastructure planning, design and construction services.

Gender equality, disability and social inclusion (GEDSI) and social and environmental safeguards are a focus of the program and are mainstreamed across ESIP’s activities and operations.

The Role

The Financial Management Adviser will provide short-term advisory support to strengthen financial governance, reporting systems and treasury oversight within Telikom PNG. The engagement will focus on improving the timeliness, accuracy and transparency of financial management systems, while supporting the Telikom CEO and executive team to stabilise finance operations and strengthen institutional capacity.

About You

Key selection criteria for the potential successful candidate includes, but not limited to:

• Tertiary qualifications in finance, accounting or equivalent
• At least 10 years’ experience in financial management or corporate finance leadership, ideally within complex organisational or government environments
• Experience working in international development or government environments will be an advantage
• Knowledge and / or experience of applying GEDSI and safeguards principles.
