WFP Tanzania maintains a well-established operational presence across the country, comprising a Country Office in Dar es Salaam, several Sub-Offices in key regions including Kigoma, Arusha, and Zanzibar and a Liaison Office in Dodoma to support engagement with the Government. This structure enables the effective delivery of integrated food assistance, nutrition, and resilience-building programmes nationwide.
The Kasulu Sub Office manages a large refugee operation assisting approximately 90,000 refugees, providing food assistance and nutrition services to both refugees and host communities in Kigoma Region. It also implements livelihoods and resilience activities, working with smallholder farmers and AMCOS to strengthen market access and productivity.
Additionally, the Sub Office contributes to nutrition outcomes through malnutrition prevention and food fortification initiatives in collaboration with government and private sector partners.
The Sub Office works closely with UN agencies, government authorities, NGOs, and other partners to ensure coordinated programme delivery. The Head of Sub Office (NOB) oversees day-to-day operations, ensuring effective implementation, resource management, and field-level coordination.
To lead and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Kasulu Sub Office, ensuring the effective and timely implementation of WFP programmes in Kigoma Region. The role ensures efficient delivery of food assistance, nutrition services, and resilience activities, while maintaining strong operational oversight, stakeholder coordination, and accountability for resources and results.
Education:
Advanced University degree in Economics, International Development, Social Sciences or other related field, or First University degree with years of professional work experience and/or training/courses.
