The Global Green Growth Institute internship program provides a unique learning opportunity for students and recent graduates from diverse academic backgrounds. The program is designed for talented and motivated individuals skilled in areas relevant to GGGI’s operations. The program allows selected candidates to gain insight into the work of the Institute and provides assistance and training in various professional fields in a multicultural environment. CURRENT OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a qualified national to join the GGGI Solomon Islands Country Office to provide operational support to the Climate Finance Access, Absorption and Implementation team.
The assignment will include the following but not limited to:
- Back-end office support in delivering GGGI’s services in country.
- Support GGGI’s Senior/Technical Officer with primary data collection and secondary data collection through literature reviews, the preparation of summary briefs, power points presentations and talking points on climate change topics of interest and other relevant national information and documents.
- Assist in delivering internal and external meetings within GGGI and with stakeholders.
- Assist in maintaining working relationships with GGGI’s Government partners in the Pacific countries
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants to the GGGI internship program must at the time of application meet the following requirements:
- Be enrolled in a Bachelor’s (final year), Master’s or PhD program prior to internship assignment, or a recent graduate within the last 12 months.
- Be engaged or recently engaged in academic study in a field directly related to the Institute’s work, in science, engineering, economics with a focus on climate change.
- Possess an excellent command of English.
QUALIFICATION
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field from a recognized university or institution.
- Strong command of MS Word and Excel, with demonstrated expertise in developing data collection templates, is highly desirable for this position.
- Must be eligible to work in the Solomon Islands (Honiara).
- Must have access to a personal laptop
- Have strong interest in climate change area of work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are essential.
