The UNICEF Ecuador office contributes to the implementation of the country programme through funds raised by the fundraising team. To secure these funds, it uses various channels such as face-to-face (F2F), telemarketing, digital, and DRTV campaigns, aimed at acquiring individual donors and encouraging them to maintain recurring monthly contributions for as long as possible.

The Ecuador Country Office manages an important house list of recurring donors who provide flexible funding for its local cooperation programme, as well as for regional and global needs.

To maintain donor loyalty, retention and value maximization strategies are implemented, with the aim of encouraging them to continue contributing for as long as possible.

How can you make a difference?

The Fund Raising Officer (Loyalty & Retention) is responsible for strengthening long-term relationships with individual donors to ensure sustainable fundraising growth. The role supports the planning, implementation, and monitoring of donor retention, cultivation, and value maximization strategies, contributing to increased donor engagement and lifetime value.

To qualify as a champion for every child you will have…

Minimum requirements:

• Education: Completed first level university degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communication, Sciences, Business Administration or another related humanistic field is required.
• Work Experience: Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience in marketing, promotional or fundraising areas is required.
• Skills: Demonstrated experience in supervising people is required. Knowledge of donor retention, loyalty, and supporter engagement strategies, preferably within fundraising or nonprofit environments is required. Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret fundraising and donor performance data to generate actionable insights is essential. Experience in conducting desk research, market analysis, and benchmarking of industry best practices is required. Good working knowledge of Ms Office applications particularly Excel is essential. Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners, suppliers, and service providers. Strong collaboration and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment.
• Language Requirements: Fluency in Spanish and English is required.

Desirables:

• Language: Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French or Russian) is an asset.
• Experience in the use of any customer relationship marketing platform (CRM) is considered an asset.
• Experience working for international organizations is desirable.
• Experience in telemarketing is desirable.
• Experience in digital marketing is desirable.
• Experience in DRTV is desirable.
• Experience in Face-to-Face fundraising is desirable.
• Experience in donor analytics is desirable.
• Experience in dashboard reporting is also desirable.
• Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts is an asset.
