Description
The Monetary and Capital Markets Department (MCM) of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has a vacancy in its Financial Supervision and Regulation (FR) Division for a Financial Sector Expert/Senior Financial Sector Expert in Capital/Securities markets, preferably with significant experience and expertise in fintech. The incumbent will be based in the IMF's headquarters in Washington, D.C.
The expert will be responsible for working in a team environment on the development, monitoring, and implementation of financial sector policies in the area of securities markets and fintech issues, including asset management, risk framework, digital assets, and supervisory challenges derived from fintech in general. S/he will participate in the Financial Sector Assessment Program, Technical Assistance, and surveillance missions, as well as the work on policy analysis and other special projects in the areas of supervision and regulation. The expert will be part of a team of experienced financial sector experts in the division, reporting to the Division Chief.
The main responsibilities of FR division are:
Development and dissemination of policy positions on prudential supervision and regulation of banks and non-banks.
Minimum Qualifications:
A regular staff member who is selected to fill the vacancy will maintain their open-ended status. If the selected candidate is a contractual employee, they will be offered a Term staff appointment. Staff members already on a term appointment will continue their current term but may receive an extension provided that their current term appointment has not already been extended.
