SCOPE OF WORK: The International Rescue Committee (IRC), works in the United States welcomes newly arrived refugees and immigrants, supports them in their resettlement, and provides holistic services to help them build new lives in their communities. The Financial Capabilities intern will support the IRC in NJ’s Financial Capabilities program.
This program aims to increase the financial literacy of participants, provide them with financial coaching and access to low-interest loans. This program aims to empower participants in becoming self-sufficient through classes that better help them maintain their own finances. The intern will support the program by providing financial coaching and counseling services to program participants, while also coordinating monthly financial education workshops for all IRC clients.
The intern will assist clients with learning about U.S. financial institutions and systems, banking, credit, budgeting, taxes, and other financial literacy topics. This is an unpaid position that is open to current college students, graduate students, and post graduate students with course credit available.

REQUIREMENTS: Volunteers must be based in the U.S. Interns must be based in US and must be enrolled in post-secondary institution or have graduated from a post-secondary institution within last 2 years.
