Expert Innovation Ecosystem*

in Bonn

The position is to be filled by August 1, 2026, with a contract duration of 12 months. At the end of the initial twelve months contractual period, very good prospects of prolongation. Employment location will be Bonn, Germany.

The Expert Innovation Ecosystem shall establish a digital platform for innovators who want to create social, environmental and societal impact in the Global South. The platform shall display the innovators to give them visibility towards investors, collaborators and supporters. The position holder will coordinate activities to build partnerships around the platform to bring various stakeholders together in support of these innovators.

It will also be part of the role to support the coordination of the annual “Seeding the Future – Global Food System Challenge” and further design it towards a format that perfectly feeds the digital platform with a selection of most impactful innovators.

Your responsibilities

• Lead the development and growth of a food systems innovation platform.
• Support the delivery of the annual Seeding the Future – Food Systems Challenge and support scaling of high-impact innovations.
• Build and engage a global network of innovators, partners, funders, and country teams.
• Develop strategic partnerships and funding opportunities to advance innovation initiatives.
• Represent and promote Welthungerhilfe’s food systems innovation work internally and externally.
• Identify high-impact opportunities and leverage points to accelerate food systems transformation.

Your profile

• Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience.
• Proven project management and stakeholder engagement experience, ideally in complex, multi-partner initiatives.
• Knowledge of innovation, impact investing, social entrepreneurship, and business development.
• Strong networking and relationship management skills; existing food systems innovation network is an advantage.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in development cooperation and food systems innovation is desirable.
• Experience managing digital awards or innovation challenges is an asset.
• You recognize the growing value of data in your field and are eager to build your awareness and skills to incorporate data-informed approaches into your work.
• Excellent spoken and written English required; French or German as additional language would be a strong asset
