The RRM Information Management Officer position sits within NRC’s Rapid Response Mechanism, a critical emergency response modality designed to deliver timely, multi-sectoral lifesaving assistance to populations affected by sudden-onset crises.
The RRM Information Management Officer supports the implementation, quality assurance, and continuous improvement of information management systems for NRC’s Rapid Response Mechanism. The role ensures that data collection, databases, dashboards, analysis, and reporting are delivered in a timely, accurate, and protection-sensitive manner to strengthen programme quality, accountability to affected populations, and evidence based decision making during rapid emergency responses.
Responsibilities
Generic Responsiblities
- Support the implementation and daily management of RRM IM/Digital systems and databases.
- Provide technical troubleshooting and improvements for RRM digital platforms and dashboards.
- Ensure compliance with NRC’s information security and data protection policies.
- Support integration of RRM IM/Digital systems with MEAL, Community Feedback Mechanisms (CFM), and programme tools.
- Build capacity of NRC staff and partners on RRM IM/Digital practices.
- Ensure quality, accuracy, and timely flow of information for reporting and decision-making.
- Compliance and adherence to NRC policies, guidance and procedures, and a specific responsibility for the RRM IM/Digital policies and procedures.
Specific Responsiblities
- Design, maintain, and regularly update RRM databases, dashboards, and information management systems (using tools such as Kobo Toolbox, Power BI, Excel, ActivityInfo, etc.).
- Ensure timely data cleaning, validation, and quality control for all RRM data collected in the field.
- Produce high-quality, timely information products including situation reports, dashboards, maps, infographics, and analytical briefs to support decision making by RRM and senior management.
- Analyse displacement trends, sectoral needs, response gaps, and coverage to inform targeting and programme adaptation in real time.
- Ensure effective data flow and coordination with relevant clusters, partners, and other NRC core competencies during RRM activations.
- Support the development and roll-out of mobile data collection tools and processes adapted to rapid emergency contexts.
- Maintain strict adherence to data protection standards and humanitarian principles, especially when handling sensitive information in insecure environments.
- Provide technical IM support during RRM activations, including training of enumerators and troubleshooting field data issues under time pressure.
- Contribute to lessons learned, after-action reviews, and continuous improvement of RRM information management processes.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the line manager in support of effective RRM implementation
Financial responsibility:
IM/Digital budget lines: Budgeting, engaging, and monitoring budget lines allocated to IM/Digital activities that this position is in charge of, ensuring proper use and accountability of resources.
Resources responsibility:
DCH, CORE, IM and Digital systems

Qualifications
Generic Professional Competencies
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Information Management, preferably in humanitarian emergency or Rapid Response Mechanism settings.
- Strong experience with mobile data collection tools (Kobo Toolbox, ODK, Survey123) and data visualization platforms (Power BI, Tableau).
- Proven ability to produce high-quality dashboards, maps, and analytical reports under tight deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Statistics, Information Management or Computer Science.
- Previous working experience in implementing digital and technology-enabled programming in emergency programme cycle (e.g. with mobile money ecosystems).
- Experience in contributing to participatory discussions, learning workshops, and capacity-building activities.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
