Purpose for the job: The Education Officer reports to the Education Specialist Level 3 for close guidance and supervision.

The Education Officer provides professional technical, operational and administrative assistance for the education programming focused on the coordination and support of the Education Sector Working Group (ESWG) .

• Minimum requirements

1. Education: Bachelor or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in education, psychology, sociology or another relevant technical field.
2. Work Experience: 1 years of relevant work experience in education programme management, sector coordination, programme planning, monitoring and evaluation, results based management, partnership development, humanitarian coordination, data analysis, knowledge management, capacity building
3. Skills: Facilitate, Fluency, Management, Programme Planning
4. Language Requirements: Both English and Turkish - Proficient/Fluent

• Desirables
  1. Language: Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish)
  2. Developing-country experience, UN system experience, additional UN language, maternal health, neonatal health, humanitarian preparedness
  3. Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.

UNICEF appointments are subject to medical clearance.  Issuance of a visa by the host country of the duty station is required for IP positions and will be facilitated by UNICEF.
