The Education Coordinator (EC) will spearhead HMH’s capacity-sharing activities with local partners and refugee/migrant led community-based organisations and networks. The role of EC is to support the Capacity Sharing Programme Development Manager in ensuring that partners’ Education and Youth programme approaches and strategies are well-informed and in-line with national and international education policies and plans. The main responsibility of the EC is to support the Capacity Sharing Programme Development Manager and partners with ensuring high quality technical support, appropriate tools and resources based on needs (e,g, curriculum). Additionally, the EC will be responsible for ensuring capacity sharing development plans with education partners and conducting quality assurance monitoring and evaluation (M&E) to ensure appropriate application of these. This position will involve trainings delivery, contextualization of resources, and will be also responsible for supporting durable solution initiatives related to the education sector. The EC will be also responsible for providing Arabic-English translation of programmatic materials, as required.
Generic Responsibilities
• Line Management of Education project field staff and partners, as relevant.
• Adherence to NRC policies, guidance and procedures and awareness of NRC global and regional strategies.
• Contribute to Education strategy development, project proposals and provide input on needs and gaps, considering where appropriate the role of cash-based interventions and market-based programmes
• Manage and implement delegated portfolio of Education Project (activities, budget and project documentation) as delegated from PDM in line with proposals, strategies and donor requirements, and ensure high technical quality.
• Provide regular progress reports to PDM
• Ensure that partner projects target beneficiaries most in need of protection, explore and asses new and better ways to assist
• Promote and share ideas for improvement and necessary changes in the activities
• Ensure capacity-sharing of partners staff and transfer key skills
• Liaise and collaborate with relevant local authorities and other key stakeholders
• Promote the rights of IDPs/returnees in line with the advocacy strategy Compliance and adherence to NRC policies, guidance and procedures.
Specific responsibilities
• Develop/support partners to develop appropriate pedagogical and Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) or Psychosocial Support (PSS) approaches, teaching and learning materials, curriculum and tools, and ensure alignment of these across community schools and hosts.
• Support the development of a strategy for youth-led organizations and youth programming.
• Design a system and tools for conducting quality assurance checks on curriculum and instruction, joint initiatives and the overall capacity sharing approach; identifying skills/tools gaps and ensuring effective resolution.
• Ensure gender, protection and conflict-sensitive mainstreaming in programme curriculum and approaches.
• Support education research teams and activities of the Human Mobility Hub; provide Arabic-English translation, as required.
• Design and implement capacity sharing plans for partners.
• Support in donor reporting, proposal and concept note development for Education and Youth.
• Any other tasks as delegated by the line managers

Qualifications:
Generic professional competencies
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience within field of expertise.
• Technical specific knowledge from the humanitarian sector.
• Previous experience of working in complex and volatile contexts.
• Documented technical competencies related to the position’s responsibilities.
• Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
• Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
Context related skills, knowledge and experience
• Extensive experience working in the education and youth programming sector in North Africa, particularly Egypt and Tunisa.
• Extensive experience in developing capacity sharing plans and contents.
• Extensive experience with pedagogical, SEL and basic psychosocial support curriculum and teaching/learning material design and implementation, and quality assurance.
• Proven ability to analyse and synthesises information.
• Extensive experience with INEE standards, gender and protection mainstreaming.
• Good coordination and communications skills, including report writing.
• Fluency in Arabic, both written and verbal. Fluency in French is an advantage
