USG Eliminate TB is a five-year USG-funded project implemented by MSH and its international and local partners to reduce TB incidence and mortality to achieve End TB strategy milestones and targets by increasing the quality, access, utilization, and sustainability of TB services in Ethiopia. USG Eliminate TB project’s support focuses on improving access and utilization to quality and patient-centered comprehensive TB services. Main purpose of the job The Driver will provide transportation support to Eliminate Tuberculosis from Ethiopia (ETBE) project staff and visitors for project-related activities. Deliver program materials and equipment to project implementation areas (regions, zones, woredas and health facilities) as appropriate. The Driver maintains project vehicles and log of vehicle use, cleans and follows up on vehicles services timeframe for the wellbeing of the vehicles in conformity with MSH’s Safety and Security Policies. Specific Responsibilities 1. Driving: - demonstrate professional driving competency Demonstrates professional driving competence - drives at a safe speed, drive carefully around people, carts, and animals, apply brakes appropriately, respect other drivers and adherence of the Ethiopia traffic rules and regulations etc. Consumes fuel efficiently and effectively; update the supervisor on the status of consumption of fuel. Timely request A Service PR, Abyssinia card refill request Taking driving safety measures- Ensuring working of safety belt, availability of all tools & kits, first aid kits, fire extinguisher, working of wipers and lamps, and suitable parking of vehicle. Ensures wear of safety belt of each passenger before and while driving. Submits appropriate and correct mileage logs and reports on time & authenticated. Well informed the travel area security, road information Driver maintains good working relationships with all project personnel and passengers. Provides timely and friendly support. Punctuality of the driver- Time, with fuel, neat & clean vehicle 2. Handling of documents among offices Deliver postal or other messages into governmental & non-governmental organization, Distribution of different items throughout the country in the organizations need. Distribution medical equipment & other donations, into assign organization collect models 19 documents, printing materials, finance settlement document MSH transfer agreement, supporting later & other Financial support in assigning zone & travel to other staff, at list 6 different zonal event 2 zonal review meetings & 4 one to one meetings. Driver maintains good working relationships with all project personnel and passengers. Provides timely and friendly support. 3. Regular maintenance & recordings monthly with summery reports Regularly replace every 5000 km oil replace by drivers after pr approved &, every 10000 km request pr then approved by regional managers prepare work order by fleet department in selected garage. The driver must elaborate on problems or need to maintenance in PR explore before approval Properly provide the vehicle to the assign garage inter & outer parts After maintenance, receive all parts inter outer parts, collect replace parts in the office. Collect receipts from the garage and send them to operation groups. Proper & regular log sheet mileage registration fuel refill amount, consumption, litter added, cash or card information, every trip register, Garage replacement part registration in front part of log sheet 4. Handling of assign vehicle Neatness of vehicle before every travel Parking safely under conservation in day & nighttime Follow up vehicle technical condition, Follow up annual inspection, first aid, fire distinguisher, condition Use properly equipment under the vehicles tool kit, jack, handle, main & spare tire, owner manual, service manual, etc. Ensures assigned vehicle is clean, well-maintained, receives needed repairs and complies with regular maintenance schedule. 5. Other responsibilities Cooperativeness of the driver for official activities- Logistical services during meeting, within office and interpersonal relations. Accepts additional administrative responsibilities. Driver maintains good working relationships with all project personnel and passengers. Provides timely and friendly support. Punctuality of the driver- Time, with fuel, neat & clean vehicle good driving record Fill properly monthly time sheet, annual smart sheet & goals, facilitate every financial relative issue Attendance, registration, advance request, TF, Expense statements, PRs, Competent upgrade always submit MSH rule & regulations by the driver & also passengers QUALIFICATIONS Education High school diploma is required. Have valid driving license & excellent driving records to 4WD vehicles Previous experience with USG funded projects is preferred: Experience 5+ years of work experience in similar programs in Ethiopia and previous experience with USG funded projects is an advantage. Knowledge and Skills Having qualifications in an auto- mechanic is an added advantage. Computer literacy is an advantage Defensive driving certificate is an advantage Competencies Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a team, assess priorities, and manage a variety of activities with attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to gain the trust, and confidence of colleagues to handle confidential matters discreetly, and have experience in conflict resolution. Ability to competently assess priorities; manage a variety of complex activities simultaneously in a time sensitive environment and meet competing deadlines. Respect Accountability Courage Excellence Interpersonal skills, stress tolerance, customer focus, collaboration, communication with in MSH Physical demand Proven punctuality and ability to work as part of a team and excellent references is a must. Ability to work independently as well as in collaboration with colleagues and partners. A willingness to travel frequently within the project implementation area is required.
