Purpose of the Position
The position is part of the Operations team within the Country Management Support Unit. Its primary objective is to provide transportation services to the WHO Country Office by driving a WHO official vehicle. Responsibilities include transporting authorized personnel, handling deliveries, and collecting mail, documents, and other items. The incumbent must drive the WHO official vehicle safely, adhering to traffic regulations, and ensure that the vehicle is maintained in good working condition.
Objective of the Programme and the immediate Strategic Objectives.
Country Office Support Units have been established in the organisational structure to provide support for Managers and staff to fully assume their responsibilities in the GSM environment and to ensure compliance with organisational policies, procedures, rules, and regulations on all administrative and financial matters and transactions in the context of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Within the CSU unit, the Operations Support and Logistics team is responsible for a pool of WHO vehicles and other transportation medium ensuring efficient use of resources and coordinating field travel to the regions across the country.

Functional Knowledge and Skills:
· Ability to read, write and understand instructions in the working language
· Knowledge of driving rules and regulations of the country and skills in minor vehicle repair.
· An ability to write a concise and official report of incidents.
· Knowledge of driving rules and regulations, chauffeur protocol and courtesies, local roads and conditions.
· Ability to assess vehicles for mechanical fitness and skills in minor vehicle repairs.
· Ability to work in a team
Educational Qualifications
Experience
Essential:- Minimum of one year driving experience as a driver; clean, safe driving record.
Desirable: - Relevant experience in the WHO, UN, or other international organizations.
Languages
Intermediate Knowledge of English is required.
Other Considerations
(e.g. Physical Workplace Condition, if other than normal office environment; IT Skills; etc.)
Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, and Internet) is essential. Work may require the use of word processing or other software packages and standard office equipment. Formal or self-training in the use of standard office software. Training in Oracle-based
