Purpose for the job:

The Digital Impact Assistant (GS-4) reports to the Digital Impact Officer (Infrastructure). The incumbent provides office-based technical support to UNICEF end-users on ICT hardware, software and operating systems, ensuring effective and efficient solutions to incidents and queries on ICT operations and services including video conferencing, audiovisual and meeting supports. The incumbent is expected to support external events outside the office. This role also extends operational support for preparing laptops and other ICT devices which include installation, configuration and troubleshooting of ICT and telecommunication system components.

Under line supervision, and based on established policies, guidelines and service level agreements, the incumbent will provide first-level technical and operational support in day-to-day maintenance of ICT equipment, digital platforms and telecommunication systems, in accordance with the ICT work plan and consistent with UNICEF's operational requirements.

Minimum requirements:

• Education: Secondary education is required, supplemented with formal training in Computer Science, Information Systems, Telecommunications, Engineering is required.
• Work Experience: A minimum of four years of practical work experience in information technology, requiring systematic methods of troubleshooting and problem solving.
• Skills: ICT Support, IT Troubleshooting, Hardware Deployment, Audiovisual Systems, Telecommunications Support, Helpdesk Support.
• Language Requirements: Proficiency in English is required.

Desirables:

• Language: Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language
• A+ Certification on Computer hardware, operating systems, security, networking, and troubleshooting or equivalent customer support certification is an asset
