About the Region

The UNOPS Middle East Region (MR) provides strategic leadership, performance oversight, and support to UNOPS operations across Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, and the State of Palestine. MR is responsible for positioning UNOPS as a key development partner in the region through high-level engagement with regional bodies, UN coordination mechanisms, development banks, donors, and intergovernmental organisations. By fostering strategic partnerships and promoting operational excellence, the region supports country teams in delivering sustainable solutions to complex development, peace, and humanitarian challenges

About the Project Office

UNOPS supports both humanitarian response and early recovery in Gaza. Currently, UNOPS support in Gaza focuses on key humanitarian enablers, including on access, via the Security Council-mandated UN 2720 Mechanism and the Access Support Unit (ASU), humanitarian fuel and energy, and mine action. Operations are envisaged to continue in the coming period with a focus in line with the UNOPS mandate: (i) infrastructure construction and rehabilitation, (ii) procurement and (iii) project management.

This position operates within the UN 2720 Mechanism for Gaza, specifically supporting the Jordan corridor. The role involves managing data related to humanitarian aid, ensuring data quality, and supporting humanitarian partners. The Mechanism works with a wide range of humanitarian partners in Jordan including the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO).

Role Purpose

This position operates within the UN 2720 Mechanism for Gaza, specifically supporting the Jordan corridor. The role involves managing data related to humanitarian aid, ensuring data quality, and supporting humanitarian partners. The Mechanism works with a wide range of humanitarian partners in Jordan including the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO).

Functions / Key Results Expected

1. Data Management and Entry

• Input and verify data related to humanitarian aid for Gaza through the Jordan Corridor together with JHCO.

• Provide data entry support to organisations registering humanitarian dispatches under the UNOPS platform.

• Prepare and insert the Service Request Form (SRF) under the Logistics Cluster platform.

2. Translation and Support

• Translate submission documents (packing lists and applications) from English to Arabic and vice versa.

• Support organisations in preparing packing lists in accordance with the required standards.

3. Reporting and Analysis

• Assist in the development of forms for data collection and analysis, as requested.

• Support in maintaining updated information in relation to program implementation through drafting needed field reports.

4. Collaboration and Assistance

• Assist colleagues working with the UN 2720 Mechanism across the input of data.

• Perform any other tasks as requested.

Education Requirements

Required

Diploma or University Degree in information sciences, computer sciences or engineering

High School Diploma with 5 years of experience

Technical/Professional Diploma with 3 years of experience
