The Opportunity
The Coordinator – Advocacy & Communications will support the Head of Communications, Media and Campaigns (CMC) in developing and implementing the Rohingya advocacy strategy and plans, advocacy and communications products such as talking points, research reports and external lobbying activities to ensure the quality and impact of our public and private-facing Rohingya Crisis advocacy and communications.
The Advocacy & Communications Coordinator will also work with the programmes team on the integration of advocacy and programmes and support the programme teams to develop and carry out child participatory advocacy and campaigning activities to ensure the priorities and voices of Rohingya children are reflected in our work.
Working closely with the Cox’s Bazar Area Team (particularly with Programmes) and the Head of CMC, the post holder will ensure that key advocacy messages and strategies are informed and shaped by the response and Save the Children’s programmes. This function will ensure that key advocacy messages are shared and communicated within Save the Children and will seek clarification on any politically sensitive matters which may have an impact on programme operations.
The Advocacy & Communications Coordinator will work to identify and develop relationships with key stakeholders at local and national levels. This position will also support the Head of CMC in developing and managing relationships with Save the Children Members and advocacy offices, and the Asia Regional Office.
