The Global Voluntary Carbon Market (GVCM) Unit supports the design and operationalization of a multilateral carbon crediting framework under which privately financed, voluntarily generated overseas mitigation outcomes are converted into credits issued by a trusted institution under credible international standards, and made tradable in a global carbon market aligned with Article 6 of the Paris Agreement.
