How can you make a difference?

As part of a dynamic and results-oriented Supply and Logistics team, you will provide technical oversight and monitoring of UNICEF’s construction and rehabilitation projects, with a particular focus on schools, health facilities, and child-friendly spaces in Haiti’s southern departments. Considering that most construction activities are located in the south of Haiti, the position is based in Les Cayes, UNICEF’s field office serving the southern departments. In this role, you will support the planning, implementation, and quality assurance of construction activities, helping to ensure that children and communities have access to safe, resilient, and child-friendly infrastructure and essential services.

In this critical role, you will contribute to the successful delivery of UNICEF's construction programme by:

1. Managing the construction unit
2. Collaboration with UNICEF Programmes/Operations
3. Coordinate the preparation of design and technical documents
4. Support with the procurement process related to constructions
5. Technical monitoring and oversight of construction projects

To qualify as a champion for every child you will have…

Minimum requirements:

• Education: A completed Master’s Degree or equivalent (Advanced University Degree) in civil engineering, architecture, construction engineering or any other related fields is required.
• Work Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience at the national and/or international levels in site supervision, quality assurance, project management and any other related fields is required. Understanding of development and humanitarian work is required.
• Skills: Demonstrated experience managing teams is required.
• Language Requirements: Proficiency in English is required. Intermediate level of French is required.

Desirables:

• Language: Proficiency in French is a strong asset. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, Russian or Spanish) or Haitian Kreol is an added advantage
• Emergency experience is desirable.
• Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts is a plus.
