The Marketing Volunteer will work within the Communications Unit of WFP Global Headquarters (HQ), based in Latin America and the Caribbean (LACRO). The Unit is responsible for promoting the impact of WFP’s mission and operations, as well as strengthening and protecting its brand globally and across the region.
The Communications Division leads external communications efforts through traditional media, digital campaigns, events, the WFP website, and social media platforms in Spanish. Key regional priorities include emergency preparedness and response, climate adaptation, and social protection to achieve zero hunger. The Division also provides strategic communications support to Country Offices across the Caribbean, Central America, and South America.
Job Purpose:
The Marketing Volunteer will focus primarily on integrated marketing to promote the WFP brand, working with global narratives and regional messages as a starting point, S/he will be under the overall supervision of the National Officer in charge of social media and campaigns and work closely with staff in the Unit, experts in Panama, communications focal points in 13 countries in the region, and several communications experts in different areas in WFP Global HQ in Rome.
Under the supervision of the Senior National Communications Officer, the Communications Volunteer will support the implementation of communication activities within LACRO. Key responsibilities include media monitoring and research, translation of materials, and consolidation of inputs from country offices for weekly and monthly reports. The volunteer will contribute to multimedia content production, including social media posts, photography, and video editing, as well as archiving assets. Additional duties include proofreading documents and providing occasional support for events. The role requires strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.

Education
Candidates must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree programme from a recognized university in one of the following areas: Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Multimedia Production or other related areas. Candidates must have attended courses in the last 12 months and have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies. Recent graduates (up to 6 months) are eligible to apply.
Language Requirements
Fluent in Spanish and English working level C.
Conditions
All volunteerships are in-person (non-remote). The volunteership is on a full-time basis (40hrs) in accordance with the working schedule of the WFP office.
