How can you make a difference?

UNICEF Haiti is seeking a dynamic, analytical, and results-oriented Budget Officer to join its Operations team. Reporting to the Deputy Representative Operations, this position offers an opportunity to contribute to the effective management of financial resources by supporting budget planning, contribution management, financial analysis, and reporting across programmes and operations. Through close collaboration with colleagues at the Country Office, Regional Office, and Headquarters, you will help strengthen financial governance and resource management, ensuring that UNICEF Haiti can continue delivering results for children. As the Budget Officer, you will support effective budget planning, financial monitoring, donor reporting, and fund management within the office. Key functions, accountabilities, and related duties/tasks include will include:

• Support in the formulation of strategies and concepts
• Support in budget analysis, focusing on achieving results
• Contribution management (budget planning allocation, monitoring)
• Management of financial dashboard reports
• Management of financial reports related to resource mobilization and donor reporting
• VISION support to fund management
• Cost distribution and payroll

To qualify as a champion for every child you will have…

Minimum requirements:

• Education: Completed bachelor’s degree or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in Finance, Accounting, General administration, Development studies, Statistics, Social Sciences, or any other relevant field of discipline.
• Work Experience: A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in Programme management and budgeting are required.
• Skills: Experience in the usage of office software MS package and advanced knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages is required.
• Language Requirements: Proficiency in French and an intermediate level of English are required.

Desirables:

• Language: Proficiency in English is desirable. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, Russian or Spanish) is an asset.
• Work experience in international organizations in the relevant area is desirable.
• Work experience on EU financial reporting is considered an advantage.
• Experience with ERP systems is desirable.
• Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts is a plus.
