Job Details :
The Office of Confidentiality and Security is located within the Office of the Director-General. The Operations Security Section is responsible for the provision of safe workplaces and the protection of OPCW assets. The Confidentiality and Information Security Section is responsible for the protection of information and communications systems and assists States Parties and the Secretariat with the implementation of the confidentiality regime.
1) Purpose of Internship: Assisting in the security risk management processes of the OPCW carried out by OCS, carrying out supporting administrative and research tasks. Specific focus on travel security risks and supporting procedures. Supporting research into security topics of interest and preparation of briefing and presentation materials. The intern will have the opportunity to learn about the United Nations Security Management System approaches to managing threat and risk information and working within a professional environment to monitor and report on the security environment in areas of interest. 2) Terms of Reference for the Internship: The intern will be provided an opportunity to learn in the following areas by; Providing administrative and research support for security risk management procedures. Providing administrative and research support for travel security risk management procedures. Carrying out checks in established systems in relation to areas of interest and conduct further open-source research on topics of interest. Supporting data capture processes for security threat information for areas and topics of interest. Assisting in collection, collation and dissemination of security threat information. Supporting the preparation of security briefing and presentation materials in relation to topics of interest both for travel and for general security awareness. Conducting and coordinating research on specific threats under the direction of the Supervisor and supporting analysis of identified factors of insecurity.
