For every child, the right to a future
UNICEF in Belarus cooperates with the government of Belarus and other national stakeholders, including the private sector and media. The overall goal of the country programme (2026-2030) is to support national efforts to promote and protect the rights of all children and to give all children equal opportunities to reach their full potential. Under a dedicated outcome on ‘Optimal health and development’, UNICEF aims to improve access for young children and adolescents to inclusive, age-appropriate, safe and high-quality health services. Under this outcome, three outputs aim to improve the environment and health services for (1) young children, particularly those with developmental delays / requiring specialized early childhood services, (2) adolescents engaged in risky behaviour and in need of reproductive health services and (3) children and adolescents in need of mental health support. Off and online health service options, capacity building and sharing of best practices with similar countries, reduction of stereotypes, and peer-to-peer support are some of the successful interventions used by UNICEF and partners.
