The role

We are currently looking for Senior Project Officer based in Luang Prabang Province.

Role Purpose

The Senior Project Officer plays a key leadership role in ensuring high‑quality implementation of climate‑adaptive livelihood, community resilience, and child‑centered climate change adaptation interventions in in Viengkham district, Nambak district and Ngoy district, Luang Prabang Province. The role provides technical support, leads field‑level coordination with government counterparts, oversees community engagement processes, and ensures that activities are delivered according to the project workplan, budget, and donor requirements.

The Senior Project Officer supports the Project Manager by supervising field teams, strengthening technical quality, ensuring compliance with safeguarding and MEAL standards, and contributing to learning, evidence generation, and adaptive management. The role also promotes inclusive and climate‑resilient development approaches that benefit vulnerable children, families, ethnic groups, and remote communities.

The post holder will be involved in emergency responses when organization decides for response in emergency in the province this position based.

In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

Ensure they fully understand the provisions of the Child Safeguarding Policy, the Code of Conduct and Local/Country Procedures.

Conduct themselves in accordance with the rules of the Child Safeguarding Policy, in their personal and professional lives – which includes reporting suspicions of child abuse.
